The National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” (NTU “KhPI”) was founded in 1885 in the city of Kharkiv. It is accredited at the highest IV level, prepares specialists in 102 specialties of internal study mode and in 70 specialties of external study mode. The university has 5 institutes and 4 faculties of full internal study mode, a distance learning center, a pre-university training center, a faculty of international education, an interdisciplinary institute of postgraduate education and three institutes of research and design. Today NTU “KhPI” works and develops the principles of the Bologna Declaration (Charter of European Universities), which they adhered to in 2005. At the university, computer and telecommunication technologies are firmly integrated into the educational process: there are more than 100 computer courses with a total number of modern computers of more than 2,500 units. The postgraduate education structure, based on the Interdisciplinary Institute of Postgraduate Education, is an integral part of the University's continuing engineering education system. It provides training for specialists in the field of intellectual property, as well as retraining in the areas of accounting and auditing, organizational management and intellectual property. Today, the university has about 1,900 foreign students.
