About
Kharkiv Academy of Physical Culture was established in 1989 in Kharkiv. This higher education institution of the IV accreditation level prepares specialists in specialties 0.17 “Physical culture and sport”, 014.11 “Secondary school (physical education)” and 227 “Physical therapy, ergotherapy”. Today, the Academy has around 2,000 students, including foreigners. Academy plays a central role in determining the strategy for improving key scientific and methodological issues in physical and higher education facing the science of sport and practice in Slobozhanshchina. Graduates of the Academy are known not only in Ukraine, but also in many foreign countries as highly qualified specialists. In the structure of the academy there are 4 faculties, research laboratory, training department, interregional massage technology training center, specialized university council for theses department to promote the employment of students and graduates, the Association of graduates, Department of International Cooperation, preparatory courses for foreign citizens, Olympic education center, Editorial and publishing department, Technical department, library, Internet access reading rooms, etc. Kharkiv Academy of Physical Culture has the Interregional Center of Massage Technology for prompt and skilled care of wounded soldiers in ATO and training of masseurs. In addition, the organizational and legal framework and mechanisms for socializing ATO soldiers, and those who are injured or disabled are developed. In practice, there is a faculty of training and continuing education for trainers of deaflympic and paralympic sports, which has not yet been prepared in Ukraine.
