Sumy State University Founded in 1948 in the town of Sumy. The university employs about 15,000 people in 51 specializations in 22 fields of knowledge. About 1,300 foreign students from almost 50 countries of the world receive training. Sumy State University is listed in the catalog of the world's best research universities in the Shanghai classification and in the authoritative catalog of the world's best universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) classification. According to the international ranking of higher education institutions QS World University Rankings, Sumy State University is in the TOP groups (3%) of the world's leading universities and is ranked among the universities with high research productivity. According to this ranking, Sumy State University is among the top five Ukrainian universities. The QS rating also identified the university between 101 and 150 among the world's “young” universities, which “are growing rapidly”. According to the results of the international ranking of the Round University Ranking, established by one of the world's largest analysis and information companies, Thomson Reuters, Sumy State University occupies 557th position among universities around the world and the second among Ukrainian universities. According to the international classification of the SCImago Institutions ranking, Sumy State University ranks 7th among Ukrainian universities and is among the top 200 universities in Central and Eastern Europe.
