About
The National University of Pharmacy is the only higher education institution in Ukraine with a pharmaceutical profile. It was founded in 1805 in the city of Kharkiv. Today around 16,000 Ukrainian students and more than 1,500 foreign students study at the university. The educational process of the University is carried out in 6 fields of knowledge and 8 specialties of the educational levels: “junior specialist”, “specialist”, university degrees “bachelor”, “masters”, doctoral degree in educational and scientific sciences. At the university, besides 6 faculties and 49 departments, there are: Institute for advanced training of specialists in pharmacy, NUP College, 5 research laboratories, Clinical diagnostic center with clinical diagnostic laboratory, Scientific and methodological education laboratory pharmaceutical of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, 24 training laboratories, distance learning center, scientific library, botanical garden, complex of physical and health culture, complex of nutrition. The National University of Pharmacy is a member of the European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy (EAFP), the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), the Magna Charta Universitatum and the International Association of Universities (IAU). University researchers are individual members of 50 professional organizations. The international scientific and educational partnership is set up with 50 institutions from 30 countries. There are 22 scientific schools in NUP, scientists have created 161 drugs, there are three scientific councils specializing in scientific specialties: “Pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy”, “Pharmacology”; “Drug technology, organization of the pharmaceutical sector and forensic pharmacy”, “Standardization and organization of drug production”. The training is given in Ukrainian, English and Russian.
